News on the Progress of the ARIS Project
As part of her fieldwork within the project Intersections: Labour Migration and the Integration of Asian Workers in the Slovenian Labour Market, Dr. Nadia Molek followed and supported the process of establishing a new organization of Filipino workers in Slovenia, with the assistance of the Workers’ Counselling Office (Delavska svetovalnica).
The emerging association aims to create a space for mutual support, information-sharing, and counselling for Filipino workers living and working in Slovenia, as well as for those who intend to come to Slovenia for work. The purpose of the organization is to assist community members with issues related to life and work in Slovenia, and to help them understand their labour rights and obligations.
The process of establishing the organization raises important questions about labour migration, access to information, institutional communication, collective organization, and the integration of migrant communities into Slovenian society. At the same time, it also highlights the importance of community-based initiatives and mutual support in addressing the everyday challenges of migrant life and work.
