International Summer School 2026 Brought Learning Organisations to Life

FOŠ has successfully concluded the International Summer School 2026: Learning Organisations in the 21st Century, which took place online from 25 May to 5 June 2026.

The programme brought together different participants to explore the concept of learning organisations and its relevance for contemporary organisational development. Guided by the course leader, Dr Tatjana Dragovic Andersen, participants examined Peter Senge’s five disciplines of learning organisations: Personal Mastery, Mental Models, Shared Vision, Team Learning, and Systems Thinking.

Through a combination of lectures, workshops, case studies, reflective exercises, and collaborative discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of how learning organisations can foster adaptability, innovation, and sustainable development in an increasingly complex world.

A particular highlight of this year’s Summer School was the series of interviews with distinguished leaders and practitioners who shared their experiences and insights into organisational learning and leadership in practice. Participants had the opportunity to engage with:

  • Jelica Pegan Stemberger, Procurator at Glotta Nova,
  • Jože Torkar, Director of Kolektor Sisteh,
  • Dejan Pust, Chief Information Officer (CIO) at NLB Group,
  • Andreja Dolničar Jeraj, Acting Director of the European Development Academy (EAD),
  • Sandra Bohinec Gorjak, Director of Arisa,
  • Daniela Vandepeer, University of Cambridge and Canterbury College.

Their contributions provided valuable real-world perspectives and demonstrated how the principles of learning organisations can be applied across diverse sectors, including education, business, technology, and organisational development.

We would like to thank all participants, guest speakers, lecturers, and organisers for their enthusiasm, engagement, and valuable contributions to the success of the programme.

We look forward to welcoming new participants to future FOŠ international programmes and continuing to build a global community committed to learning, leadership, and organisational excellence.
