Planning the Online Event: POST WORK SOCIETIES IN THE EU AND BEYOND – Talk
Dr. Nadia Molek met with Dr. Dan Podjed in Ljubljana to discuss and plan the upcoming online event POST WORK SOCIETIES IN THE EU AND BEYOND – Talk, which will take place on 29 September 2026.
The event is organised within the framework of the EU CERV project “Transform the Future of Workforce”. As the project approaches its conclusion, the roundtable discussion will provide an important opportunity to reflect on key questions, challenges and insights that have emerged throughout the project.
The event will be free of charge and open to all interested participants online. Dr. Nadia Molek will moderate the discussion in her capacity as a representative of UNM FOŠ (University of Novo mesto, Faculty of Organisation Studies).
The roundtable will bring together a number of distinguished surprise guests, who will join Dr. Podjed and Dr. Molek in exploring key questions concerning the future of work and the transformation of societies:
What happens if technology enables us to work less, or makes certain forms of human labour unnecessary?
- Who decides how artificial intelligence is used, and who benefits from automation?
- How will these transformations affect income, inequality, our sense of purpose and individual agency?
- From universal basic income to social unrest and technological solutionism – what scenarios might lie ahead?
At the centre of the discussion will be a simple yet fundamental question: What kind of society do we actually want?
The event will offer an opportunity for an interdisciplinary discussion on technological change, the future of work and its broader social implications, while encouraging participants to critically reflect on the choices shaping our collective future.
Participation is free of charge and open to all interested participants.
