The impact of the COVID-19 on democratic debate
In May 2023 the Faculty of Organisational Studies in Novo mesto hosted the first debate panel with the title "The impact of the COVID-19 on democratic debate" within the European project HEARD.
Participants of the debate panel stressed the importance of collaboration between politicians and experts from different scientific fields for the effective management of future epidemic/pandemic situations, as diverse perspectives and expertise are key for better management of similar situations.
Participants also made suggestions for addressing societal dissatisfaction during the COVID-19 epidemic, including clearer communication of decisions taken at national level to ensure that the spread of future epidemics/pandemics is limited.
