FOŠ at the 25th Anniversary of the Interreg Alpine Space Programme in Salzburg
Our colleagues, Lejla Imamović Lerić and Lina Čop, attended the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Interreg Alpine Space programme, which took place in Salzburg from May 12 to 14, 2025. The event marked a quarter of a century of successful transnational cooperation and sustainable development in the Alpine region.
During the three-day event, inspiring panel discussions, interactive workshops, and numerous networking opportunities were held. Participants had the chance to listen to several distinguished speakers, including:
- Stefan Glowacz, professional alpinist and adventurer, who shared inspiring stories of perseverance and vision from his Alpine expeditions in the opening speech.
- Alenka Smerkolj, Secretary General of the Alpine Convention, who participated in discussions on challenges and opportunities for sustainable development in the Alpine region.
- Dr. Séverin Duc, historian and consultant, who led the session "Elevating Women, Adapting the Alps: A Gendered Perspective on Climate Change," highlighting the importance of involving women in climate change adaptation.
Additionally, the "Projects EXPO" exhibition showcased projects shaping the future of the Alpine region. Among them was the APOLLO project (territoriAl corPOrate weLfare through digitaLization and cOoperation), in which our faculty participates as a partner.
The event was also an opportunity to announce the third call for standard project proposals, which will take place between April 22 and July 10, 2025, opening new possibilities for collaboration and the development of innovative projects in the Alpine region.
