Study Plan

Blended Study

The programme is delivered in a part time format. Academic requirements for each year are ordinarily completed within one academic year. Courses are taken sequentially: each begins with lectures, followed by group exercises, and concludes with assessment; the same sequence applies to all courses.

Organisation and delivery are adapted to students’ needs. FOŠ uses a blended approach (in person sessions and distance learning via e classrooms), enabling students to align study with work, family, and other commitments. IT support is provided, including the option to obtain O365 licences.

Independent Study

Self-directed learning is an integral part of the programme. It includes individual literature study, preparation and presentation of seminar papers, student research projects, and thesis preparation. This approach enables students to fully develop their creative potential. Students have access to appropriate learning infrastructure, including computers, internet, access to databases and software, and email, facilitating communication and information access.

Lifelong mentoring

FOŠ implements a lifelong mentoring approach to maintain connections with graduates, expand collaboration opportunities, and enhance social capital for both students and faculty.

Our lifelong mentoring programme aims to:

  • Support students who have interrupted their studies and wish to continue
  • Encourage students to progress to the next academic year
  • Motivate 1st and 2nd cycle graduates to continue to higher degrees
  • Promote lifelong learning and continuous professional development
  • Engage alumni in FOŠ research and educational activities
  • Support alumni publications under faculty mentorship
  • Strengthen the FOŠ community and promote our values
  • Track graduate employability and career progression for programme improvement

The FOŠ Career Center provides professional assistance to mentors engaged in lifelong mentoring.

Industry Integration

Our application and research-oriented programmes actively connect with the professional environment. Industry experts share their knowledge through guest lectures emphasizing best practices. First-cycle students complete professional internships with partner organizations in real work environments. We have established partnerships with numerous public and private sector organizations throughout the Dolenjska and Bela krajina regions.
