Biography

Marjanca Kranjc (1976) holds a bachelor's degree in chemical technology and a master's degree in quality management systems. At the very beginning of her career, she was in the company Keko Varicon d.o.o. responsible for the project of development, production and use of sustainable materials and technologies in the production of overvoltage surge protective electronic components, for which the company won the flattering environmental award for environmentally friendly small company in 2005, awarded by Finance, Ecological Fund of Slovenia, public fund and Agency of Slovenia for the environment. Later, in this same company, she co-created an upgrade of the quality management system according to a demanding automotive standard, and in 2007 she joined TPV Novo mesto, where she continued her leadership work in the field of quality management. In 2012, she was invited to join Danfoss Trata d.o.o. Under her leadership, Danfoss Trata d.o.o. as the first Slovenian company that does not manufacture and supply products for the automotive industry, has established a certified quality management system according to the demanding automotive technical standard. Since then, they have improved product reliability by more than 70% and reduced the cost of poor quality by just as much. In the period from 2017 to 2020, she was responsible for the excellence of the supply chain for Europe in the field of district heating and led an organization with more than 500 employees in Slovenia, Poland, Denmark and Romania. During this period, she and her team developed a smart factory strategy that is already being implemented and Danfoss Trato d.o.o. shortlisted for the plant in 2018. The implementation of the strategy enables the further development of productivity, which is resulting in 10% annual productivity, for a further five years. As of this year (2021) she is within Danfoss Group responsible for business development and growth in Eastern European Region. For the last 3 years she has also been active as a higher education lecturer. She is a member of the working group for modern leadership at the Manager Association and a member of the advisory body of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. In 2018, she was invited to the Nordic Female Career Summit, which brings together 30 female leaders annually, representing the potential for executive positions in companies. In 2018, she was also nominated for Engineer of the Year. She regularly lectures and shares experience at strategic conferences of companies (Slovenian Steel Industry, School for Principals) and associations (SZKO, SLZ).

Research Profile

Her research interests include teaching and researching modern approaches, models and tools for managing change and problem solving. In his research, he connects current theoretical knowledge with his rich experience in various professional and leading positions in the international environment.
